What better aquarium can recreate, display, and explain the deepest secretes of the Caribbean and the obvious surface treasures of the tropics than our own Aquarium of the Caribbean located in the heart the tropics?  Beneath the beautiful Caribbean waters lies the exotic and colorful habitat of corral reefs.  This mysterious and enchanting world parallels the abundant and colorful life of the tropical rainforest in terms of biological diversity.  Recreated here is a vast ecosystem that has been going on for millions of years among the rocks, plants, fishes, sand and water.

A green sea turtle greeting the visitorsThe Aquarium of the Caribbean takes great pride and honor in being a premiere research center for tropical marine studies.  Through dozens of breathtaking exhibits, you'll meet more than 5,000 of this seas' inhabitants, representing hundreds of different species.  These marine animals and their habitats are organized into three major exhibit galleries: the Caribbean Sea and it's two neighbors, the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.  As you journey through these waters, you'll realize the important link between humankind and the thousands of other species that depend on the Caribbean for life.

Don't miss feeding time for the Caribbean Reef SharksThe Aquarium's personnel invite you to join in a marine expedition to the tropics.   Explore a shallow water lagoon and sun-splashed rocks of an exotic coral reef.  Take a virtual dive into the underwater canyons and witness the cycle of marine life from creation to extinction.  Then immerse yourself and walk on the bottom of the ocean floor surrounded by water on either side and above while tiger sharks, eagle rays, and green turtles stare at you in your own bowl of air.  On the way, you'll encounter the great barracuda, sargeant major fish, nurse sharks, yellow mouth groupers, stingrays, Atlantic manta and more.  Above ground, walk or wade among the tide pools and rocks and view life on the edge, that is, on the edge of mammoth body of water.  Our beach is home to many creatures from birds to sand crabs, waiting to look you over.

Stop by at the aquarium and interact with the stingraysExperience a dazzling variety of marine life with special feature presentations.  You'll find up-close views of life in our interactive Discovery Labs.  Hands-on displays engage your every sense while Aquarium volunteers answer your questions about the marine life.  Shipwreck cove was created to let kids do what kids do best: explore, touch, and learn in an outdoor interactive learning center.  In Discovery Presentations held at various locations and times throughout the aquarium, our aquatics take the opportunity to educate you about the whole marine experience.  Special topics include animal survival strategies and environmental preservation.  The Aquarium has developed marine study and enrichment classes for every age for our local community.  So take advantage of all the Aquarium of the Caribbean has to offer, and leave with a better appreciation of our neighbors under the sea.
